Q1: How does the Trackyou system work?
A1: Trackyou provide a web based asset tracking system using GPS satellite positioning data and the GPRS communication network to transmit packets of data over the air.
The system works in real time on a ‘live’ updating format. There is no requirement to dial into vehicles or refresh screens.
Q2: What hardware is fitted to my vehicle/asset?
A2: Depending on what level of functionality you require, your vehicle(s) will be fitted with a VTU (Vehicle Tracking Unit) and the required GSM/GPRS antenna. All fitments are made in a covert fashion with no signs of the installation having taken place within the vehicle.
Trackyou’s VTU’s are CE marked and approved for use in the UK by the UK Department of Transport VCA. In addition, Trackyou’s hardware products have been extensively tested by the independent laboratory CETECOM.
Q3: Do I need to visit Trackyou for installation to take place?
A3: No. Trackyou operate a nationwide network of fully trained installation engineers, trained to FCS1362 and FITAS level standards. We will come to your depot or premises to carry out any installations at a time convenient to you.
Q4: Can I purchase online?
A4: Yes you can purchase selected models online through our Store. Trackyou also provide bespoke solutions which are tailored for each client’s individual needs. Should you wish to purchase these products please Contact Us with your requirements.
Q5: I only want to purchase one or two trackers – is there a minimum order level?
A5: No. Trackyou have many hundreds of customers who have a single tracker in a single vehicle. Our minimum length of contract is 12 months, but there is no minimum order level.
Q6: Is the system reliable? I need it to work 24/7.
A6: Trackyou continue to invest heavily in providing a secure and reliable service. Our system comes with a guaranteed uptime of 99.75% all year round. Our secure servers in Manchester are stored in one of the UK’s most secure hosted environments used by many local authorities and local government organisations.
Q7: Can you provide a personal tracker?
A7: Yes. Trackyou provide a range of devices suitable for personal tracking. Options include Panic Alert functions, extended battery life and motion sensors. See our section on Lone Worker systems for more details, or contact us with your requirements.
Q8: Do I need special training to use the Trackyou system?
A8: The Trackyou system has been designed to be used by someone with low levels of IT experience. Full training can be provided by Trackyou for our customers, and we also supply a detailed PDF User Guide which is a complete ‘walk through’ the system and how to operate it.
The award winning Trackyou interface is designed on a ‘KISS’ principle – and we continue to develop systems that are feature rich but simple to operate.
Q9: I need a more bespoke system as I have specialist vehicles. Can you help?
A9: Yes. Trackyou have won awards for our ability to be innovative when it comes to providing solutions. Regardless of the types of vehicles you operate, we can provide a solution for your requirements. Trackyou monitor a huge range of specialist vehicles from gully cleaners through to gritters and quad bikes. Let us know what you want to monitor, and we can provide the solution you need.
Q10: Is it possible for me to see a demonstration of the system?
A10: Yes. Ask to speak to one of our Sales Team and they will arrange for you to see a full demonstration of what the Trackyou system is capable of. There is no obligation to purchase the system after such a demonstration.
Q11: How can I pay?
A11: Trackyou offer a range of options for the purchase of equipment. Contact us for more information on outright purchase, lease or rental. Lease and Rental agreements are subject to status and credit checks will be involved by a third party company.
Q12: Are there any jobs available at Trackyou?
A12: Please visit our Careers section. We are always happy to hear from prospective candidates with experience in systems development (IT) and auto-electrical trained engineers for our Service and Installation department. Speculative CV’s with covering letters will be viewed and filed if no suitable application currently exists.
