The Requirements

Kirklees Council are known for being a forward thinking local authority based in West Yorkshire. Trackyou successfully tendered to provide vehicle tracking services to a range of departments within the authority, covering over 660 vehicles in total. A range of requirements were needed including the ability to provide CANBUS enabled vehicle tracking units, vehicle safety check functions and Driver I/D systems. Kirklees set Trackyou an ambitious deadline due to internal constraints – and Trackyou had to deliver on time.

The Solution

Trackyou had just two days to fully plan the installation phase in order to beat the deadline imposed. By working very closely with Kirklees Council from the outset, Trackyou were able to agree on specification at an early stage and were able to get the project up and running almost immediately. With a range of depots to install at and a huge variety of vehicles to work on, it was a challenge that Trackyou relished.

The Outcome

Trackyou completed all the installations well within the time limits imposed, building a strong relationship with Kirklees Council from day one of the process. Trackyou’s engineers kept to a strictly enforced installation schedule and exceeded their targets without the need to work at weekends. Disruption to such a large fleet was kept to a minimum at all times, and Kirklees Council have a complete and fully featured vehicle tracking system in place.
