More and more local authorities and waste carriers are investing in systems that monitor waste and recycling. Trackyou are spearheading such developments as reflected by our awards for innovation in this area.
Trackyou can monitor the waste and recycling of householders using GPS/GPRS technology and an additional Telematics control box, mounted internally or externally on the vehicle.
The operatives have a series of key codes such as: Bin not out, access blocked, wrong bin out. They then enter the house name or number using an alpha-numeric keypad, and the time and address information is all sent live over the air to HQ. This technology has led to the likes of Wrexham County Borough Council changing its policy on Waste and Recycling!
A full report can then be created or scheduled to show you the movements of the refuse vehicles and any events that have taken place during the course of its duties. Colour coded icons will show you what events have happened for easy identification. Any queries in relation to why bins have not been emptied can also be answered as the relevant information can be quickly accessed on-screen. This information can then be analysed to view trends of recycling in particular areas.
This whole process is saving local authorities thousands of pounds in reduced fuel bills and hugely impacting on the amount of CO2 levels produced by vehicles making unnecessary journeyís to retrieve bins or recycling boxes.
